Re: Its vernal some where damnit |
I was at the vernal page of my encyclopedia when I made haste w/ my post, I was trying to figure out if the vernal and atumnal fell at the same calender days. It doesn't suprise me that I posted oppisite this dyslexia affects more than my vision I guess, it also makes for funny mornings all hung over w/ my shirt on backwards. Tis probably was Castor or Pollox either of my Gemini twins the prob is I don't know which one I am at times
Kinda like the bio I read of Neil Young called "Shakey" when he was young he contracted polio and still to this day when he closes his eyes he doesn't know his left from his right. Guy can play some guitar though. Me well "I'll get up and fly away"

Re: Happy vernal equinox (Dead related) |
here's a site that has a nifty calculator for what you are seeking
http://stellafane.org/misc/equinox.htmlyou can cross reference them by a series of searches from this site
http://www.setlists.net/as you know, equinox and solstice dates vary by a day or 2 each year and the date is split between one day and the next somewhere in the world for any given event
the UTC time can be selected to calculate any time zone if you know the difference in hours between the time in England and the zone you are trying to calculate (adjust for any daylight savings factor)
the day to day changes between the amounts of light and darkness are more rapid around an equinox and far less around a solstice, further compounding the extremes experienced those of us sitting on top of the world (or underneath)
if you do take the time to research this, i (we) would be grateful should you post the results

the never ending efforts of people to freely share their knowledge is truly amazing
and it covers 2,000 years, that should be enough to include most GD shows

Bouddha once said: if thousands of people have the same opinion it doesn't prouve it s the truth, and if only one had an opinion it never proves it could't be true !

Re: Autumnal Equinox show |
With midnight suns' help I was able to accumulate the info I needed to find a true autumnal equinox show .
The results suprised me because I thought I'd have a ton of material to search through , but once the times calculated at EDT stared coming in w/ the dates I realizes that only a handful of these days will have a true equinox time that will correspond to times that the Dead could be playing . Can you dig it so far ? So my first possible hit I had was
68-22-09 Del Mar Ca. eq time: 19:36 EDT
Now I'm not sure but the Dead probaly are not playin at 15:30 Pacific time? It is at a campground though so I guess its feasible. No set list was mentioned
The next one pretty close time and a termendous show
My search took me all the way to 93 where I think I hit paydirt
93-22-09 Madison Square Garden eq time 20:22 EDT
setlist; Help> Slip> Franklin's, Minglewood, Ramble On Rose, Masterpeice,Birdsong
second set : No Easy Anwsers,Looks Like Rain,Estimated. Dark Star> Drums. Space> Wharf Rat> Throwin> Lovelight E: I Fought The Law
w/ Dave Murry- sax and James Cotten- Harmonica
So, I can't say for certian but I found a GRATE show looking.
